LRQA: Brand communications

Corporate

LRQA is a validation and compliance business. Originally a specialist team developed within Lloyd’s Register, they separated out into their own standalone company in 2022.

After the brand was created, Onthree were brought in to support the development of brand strategy, messaging and communications. We produced a series of key documents, outlined below.

The brand messaging framework was one of the first and most significant pieces created for LRQA. It serves as a single source of truth for their messaging, aligning all public communicators to a set of approved, precise wording. To create this, we conducted thorough interviews with representatives from all levels of the business.

After the messaging framework's success, we produced a supplemental writing style guide to help calibrate the team on tone of voice and writing style. Beyond directly lifting copy, it resolved differences and gave recommendations for more ambiguous contexts.

Inbound marketing is a key driver of traffic for LRQA. We worked with the marketing team to write and design a content strategy; clarifying and setting their content production processes.

In early 2024, LRQA launched ‘Assurance 4.0’, a campaign centered around their strong belief that we were entering a whole new era of risk management.

To support this release, we created a sales assistance tool—an interactive PDF for salespeople to study, or even refer to live during sales calls. This provided consistency and confidence around language use.
