Trinity School, on Shirley Park in Croydon, is part of the John Whitgift Foundation, serving the local community since 1596. Currently educating boys aged 10–16 with a co-educational Sixth Form, Trinity ranks among London's top 20 independent schools and is moving towards full co-education by 2031, with girls joining Year 6 and 7 from 2027. The move to a co-education offer prompted the brand refresh.
What sets it apart is the breadth of school life alongside strong academics — from a choir performing at Glyndebourne to elite sport and art, bound together by a genuinely values-led ethos.

The brand project began with research into how comparable schools were talking about their own moves to co-education. This surfaced a clear insight: most schools reached for the same defensive, post-rationalised language.
That led to the founding strategic principle for Trinity: co-education should be positioned as one proof point of a bigger story about the school, not the headline itself. From this came the big idea, One Trinity: built on themes of leading, uniqueness and togetherness, and expressed through bold, factual, numbers-led storytelling that showcases the range and energy already inside the school.

From there, the design development ran on two tracks. The school identity itself was refreshed. The mitre and wordmark moved to a stronger mid-blue, typography and proportions were tightened for legibility, and the colour system was simplified and made more harmonious.
Alongside this, the One Trinity messaging framework was extended across further areas of school life — sport, arts, facilities, trips, clubs and everyday moments — pairing the numbers device with a value to give it the human warmth the feedback had called for.
Both tracks converged into the final direction: a single, refined design system applied consistently across the full set of brand touchpoints — advertising, prospectus, website, social and print — supported by a two-tier approach to photography (emotive imagery for key moments, everyday imagery for the rest) and a wider palette of values-led language layered onto the factual One Trinity numbers.
