We undertook a complete overhaul of the visual identity for the WOA, focusing on the Olympic flame as the central motif. This new identity was rigorously detailed through guidelines and then applied to a series of key communication templates.

The next task was the design and development of the new website which better represented the activities of the WOA and its connectivity to both the 148 NOA's and the global community of Olympians that it serves.

We worked in partnership with the WOA to create the OLY post-nominal letters and an iconic sub-brand for the WOA to use. The thought was to give Olympians a title befitting their sacrifice, much like ‘PhD’. This was the central idea in an engagement campaign for past and present Olympians, that still runs today.

Be OLY is the associated campaign used to draw in Olympians to register for OLY. We created a campaign used at key events and which ran across print and social. Executed in multiple languages to recognise the diversity and reach of the WOA and the Olympic participants.

‘Make Your Mark’ is another Olympian engagement campaign. The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics took place in July - August 2021.

At that event, we collected every Olympian’s signature that competed in the games and created a unique animated illustration of these signatures coming together to create the central red sun in the Japanese flag. A symbol of unity.

This graphic was then turned into celebratory posters. The same campaign ran in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games using a brush illustration of the Great Wall of China.
